Hence the same was chosen by the Patrons of IPSTA making the Exchange, the oldest commodity exchanges in our country and the first recognized Regional Commodity exchange for Black Pepper in the world with over 59 years of operation in its credit. It’s proximity to the Kochi port made Mattancherry a terminal market for spice trade.
