(Text by the designer) I had already been living in my apartment for about 10 years, when I realised it was time for a serious change aesthetically and functionally as well. The house had to reflect the personalities and lifestyles of my wife and I, so I started off designing the space with a very monochromatic palette (which is usually the starting off point for all my projects) in mind, but injected with some quirky-nesses and warmth. I started off doing this by: 1. Cladding the existing white marble floors with an engineered wooden flooring in the living room to balance out the very white wall surfaces. 2. I did the opposite in the bedrooms where I retained the original Portuguese white marble flooring but balanced that out with darker and warmer wall claddings. 3. A lot of quirky art combined with a lot of plants around the living room also toned the monochromatic palette down and injected some warmth to the space. . . . . #indiatodayhome #indiatoday #balckandwhite #marble #diningroomdecor #diningroom #stripes #wallpaper #wallpainting #wall #wallart #quirkydecor #quirkyart #apartmentliving #luxedesign #luxedecor #designer #residence #cleverdesign #contemporaryhomes #modernhomes #modernhouse #newdesign #homerenovation #homedecor #home #designing #designinspiration #designinterior #designinspo
