About Buzzard Trails

Discover the social history of Leighton-Linslade using this interactive trail.

We are proud of our history, the people who have lived and worked here have made it the thriving community it is today.

To celebrate the people of our town, this trail has been created to share some of their stories, each one linked to a building or monument in the town centre.

Whether you are a local or a visitor we think you’ll learn something new about the town.

Follow the walking route or mix and match locations of interest to you.

You can use the audio function in each section to narrate the story of each location.

Why not take a souvenir selfie for a memory of your trip – you can even be the Town Crier!

How knowledgeable are you about Leighton-Linslade? Test yourself in the quiz.

The app is rich with historical information, original photographs and images to bring the trail to life.

Leighton-Linslade Town Council created the trail and would like to extend a huge thanks to the following for their contribution and support of the trail; Leighton Buzzard and District Archaeological and Historical Society, family members of people featured, Peter Hailes, Leighton Buzzard Fire Service, Ian and Arthur Summerfield, Colin Holmes, Bedfordshire Archives and the Leighton Buzzard Observer.

This app makes use of GPS to show you places of interest close to your current location. Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
