Our kitchen island is the heart of our home and our rescue kitties love sitting on our barstools! Can you see Matcha and Chai’s little faces popping up over the edge of the counter? Matcha is more obvious, but you might have to zoom in to see Chai! — We made a lot of functional decisions for our island: Directly below the sink, we did a washable/removable tilt-down down drawer for scrubbers (there’s a pic on our website). To the left of the sink, we did a large garbage pullout with different compartments for garbage, recycling, and compost.
