I have always been a massive foodie and I have always loved to cook. I find it quite therapeutic, like a little escape where I focus on this one thing. With that said I think that I, like many other people out there, have a tendency to perhaps overindulge in eating out / ordering in. Believe you me, I have my budget on lock, but a respectable chunk of my āfree spendā money would regularly go towards restaurants.
I even noticed that I was happy to spend money on restaurants in a way I would not in other areas of my life. For example, Ā£50/$75 for a nice meal out with friends? No problem, so long as it fits my budget. However, you can bet I really think about paying that same amount for an article of clothing I know I will wear time and time again. Now there is nothing wrong with this, so long as it is in your budget and this is something you consider a priority for yourself.
With that said, ya girl has saved an inordinate amount of money since the start of lockdown. I taught myself how to cook some of my favourite dishes, and it has been so much fun! I started by thinking of what my favourite things to order were and began to research what I would need and at times watching a YouTube video or two. Iāve had a couple dishes not come out quite as nice but you can bet that even once all of this is over I will be spending a lot more time in the kitchen enjoying some me time! I will also break down in a couple weeks how much it can help you save without compromising on taste!
