Here our designer Louisa gives some helpful tips: - Use mirrors and reflective surfaces to maximise natural light – high gloss finishes, especially in white give maximum reflection - Contrast high gloss cabinetry with a light wood effect or darker colour to break the uniformity up. - Go for integrated appliances to streamline the look - Install a boiling water tap so no need for a kettle on the side - Galley kitchens or U-shaped make maximum use of space and easy access to all areas. Go for a peninsula with a breakfast bar rather than an island as it takes less space but still gives the option for casual dining - Many worksurfaces now have lids to cover sinks giving extra work surface - Good lighting is critical in a small kitchen.
