S T E P S D O W N (AD/Product) Morning all, Happy Monday! Hope you’re all doing good? I’ve had a few comments on my stories yesterday after Bertie’s running jump from these steps 😳 (onto a bean bag, not the floor) about whether we had the steps to begin with or whether we added them in ✨✨✨ We added them in. The level of the garden naturally slopes down, and the original kitchen and dining room were on a raised timber floor about 75cm above ground level. To build our extension to avoid having it way above the garden level, we took out the existing timbers and joists, and lowered the floor pretty much down to soil level, with the slab, damp course, insulation, sub floor and underfloor heating laid on that. There was a fair bit of shingle and old bricks to come out, but we didn’t actually dig dig down ✨✨✨ I’m really pleased with the level change, as it feels like we’ve kept the new part of the house almost separate to the rest, plus we created some feature steps for plants too! 🌿🌿🌿 Have you had to do something similar with your reno project? Also if you’re looking for something to keep your kitchen, bathroom or other areas of your home clean, I’ve been using @get_homethings this week, and you can re-use the refillable bottles over and over again. They also look quite stylish too 🙌🙌🙌 #kitchendesign #kitchenlayout #kitchentips #openplanliving #myhousethismonth #myrenostory #storyofmyhome #cornerofmyhome #darkinteriors #styleitdark #kitchensofinstagram #mydailyrenovation #renovationtips #myrenovationjourney #housereno #periodproperty #kitchendecor #myhousedownsouth #renovationproject #victorianterrace #edwardianterrace #howimonochrome #myhouse #myhousebeautiful #howihouseplant #loverenovate #styledupinterior
