It’s been a long time since I’ve had a dedicated work desk. I’ve worked all over the house and outside it: in bed, on the couch, standing in the kitchen, sitting at the table, in cafes, in bars, wherever. But now, being confined to the house by the pandemic, I found myself needing physical (and, to be honest, emotional) space to write, conduct interviews, and map out stories and chapters for my first book on the wall.
This past week, my husband helped me move the desk upstairs and set it up in our bedroom. I love the light the window provides, the quiet rush of cars below, and the pride of ownership over this little corner. Being a mom with small kids, it’s infrequent that I feel like anything is *only* mine, so it feels aaaaamazing to start the next chapter of my writing life here. Art and decor to make it fun and cozy to come!
