Double posting today because why not! 😆🤷 Here are the details of this desk. (Swipe to see how it looked when I grabbed it from Goodwill!) I love the mid century style, so when I saw this I knew I needed it. I could instantly picture a moody/classy vibe - like the type of desk you'd see in a den with a fireplace and floor to ceiling bookshelves with George Clooney sitting behind it. 😆😆 This is why I went a different route in the color instead of just doing a black or a white because nothing says class like BM Caldwell Green! The best part of this desk (and the only part that was solid wood) was the legs, so I sanded those down to let their beauty shine. The top was a laminate, so I actually built my own top out of Aspen and added a little stain. (Even though it seems easy, Building new tops is always one of the most tedious parts to make sure it sits flat and smooth, and depending on the layout of the desk you may have to drill through multiple layers to properly screw it on). The desk body was mostly particleboard so that was painted and all the pretty fluted detail I made from pine dowels (also time consuming: measure, cut, sand, glue, paint) and then to install new hardware over that! 😅 But I finished it and enjoyed the entire process.
