WFH upgrade👩🏻💻👨🏼💻 I haven’t told anyone I’m going to throw myself out a window in over a month!
When the pandemic started I was out on maternity leave and by the time I showed up on the scene it seemed like everyone else had figured it out. To say I was sad to return to work this way after an already isolating and scary postpartum is an understatement. It’s taken time and a lot of adjusting to reach “okay”.
Moving was a necessity. This office space and being able to co-work from home with my husband has been a massive improvement! Creating an office space we enjoy has been extremely helpful. It’s one of our favorite spaces in the house!
Things that help me ward off WFH depression:
🌿Plants- everywhere
🌿Candles- lit daily
🌿Pets- we got an extra one
🌿Rituals- morning coffee while watching the bird feeder
🌿Walks & yoga- taking it easy but getting sun and fresh air
🌿Audio books- being read to is manageable and feels good
🌿Breaks- turning the compost heap, finding a sunny spot for the solar panel, knitting
🌿Grace- accepting there will be good and bad days
🌿Voicing it- saying I’m struggling takes power away from the struggle and invites my support system in
🌿Lowered Expectations- WFH is my worst case scenario so I don’t expect to be my best self
Have you had to shift to work from home? How’s it going? Any tips for keeping spirits up or work/life balance?
