It’s way too easy to get caught up in the pitfalls of UI changes we don’t like, or the psychological decisions made to sway us into certain behaviors. As a brand, a business or a creator however, you have to look beneath the surface.
Most people didn’t like Instagram Stories when they first came out, and it’s almost completely obliterated Snapchat and paved way for new interactions with your audience on Instagram.
Right now, Reels and Guides are fantastic tools you can utilize to reach your current audience in new ways, and even more so to reach new potential audiences that would have never seen you before.
There’s two sides to this story that repeat themselves with every platform and every feature. You can stand back, dissaprove of the changes and stay stagnant. Or you can explore unique ways to bring value and engage with your audience. Believe it or not, Instagram (and all social platforms) will reward you for using their newest features. They encourage it.
After spending years creating content for social media, and helping other businesses do the same, I can tell you firsthandedly that choosing to embrace new features and find ways to incorporate them into your current content flow will reward you big in the long run.
Take with that what you will, just a little marketing advice for those out there looking to expand their brand!
