It only took a provincial lockdown for us to finally create a usable home office space, but it now mostly exists!
Ā Before this, it had a tiny desk for a giant computer and a lot of poorly organized stuff - like the room where you put all the stuff you don't know where else to put. With both of us working from home, it went from being our most neglected room to our most used.
It's definitely still a work in progress, so I need wall decor ideas - the sticky notes don't count! I'm thinking about some shelves and colour blocking that matches our respective aesthetics and creates a natural division maybe. It's also the only room we didn't repaint but I think the wall colour is growing on me as a neutral backdrop.
My favourite part is obviously Hudson's workspace. I was worried he wasn't going to use the table if we moved it upstairs, but it has honestly been the BEST thing ever, especially on those days when there's always another email or that one final thing you need to do.Ā
So basically everyday...
I put some rice and beads in the bins underneath to keep in the mess, puzzles, and an arts & crafts cart nearby. It's not totally foolproof, but he can spend a decent amount of time entertaining himself if we are busy working on something. And I love that it makes it feel like a family office for everyone instead of an "off-limits" room for grown-ups.Ā
almost everything is from @ikeacanada
We had some leftover paint from a kitchen project, so I painted the bottoms of the Flisat stool legs.
The cart by the window is an old Ikea Forhoja kitchen cart that I painted with chalk paint and wax forever ago. Thinking of using it for a printing/coffee station.
Alan's chair is a used one we picked up from some industrial park in the middle of nowhere and my wood chair is from an antique store in Bloomington. And the pouf is from Marrakesh courtesy of my bffl @marinapro87
