Like many, I’ve been working from home since March, which has so many benefits and is now my new norm. Equally, I hadn’t considered the importance of #ergonomics and had started to feel the physical strain of #wfh . Fortunately my employer was willing to financially support a home setup (which can be quite expensive).

It was so difficult to find sustainable office equipment. I heard of bamboo keyboards but could not find it anywhere in stock. Even though I will eventually add to e-waste, the best I could do was select energy efficient equipment and use rechargeable batteries.

I was chuffed, however, to find this sustainable office desk from @wearedeskmate and laptop riser from @humbleworkslondon . The desk is made in U.K. using recycled natural plywood. It’s lightweight and foldable, so can be easily moved and stored. It’s meant to be self-assembled in under 10 minutes with a screwdriver, however I found it took much longer as the screw holes were so small they needed to be drill. It was, otherwise, fairly straightforward to assemble. It also was packaged in cardboard which is recyclable at kerbside, although there was a tiny bit of plastic for the screws.

The laptop riser keeps the wrist and neck at optimal position by raising the laptop at a good angle. It fits all PC and Mac styles and great for laptops with fans at the bottom. It’s lightweight and portable, not to mention #ecofriendly .
The desk was approx £170 and the raisers £20. Both looked quite stylish and good quality, I love it!
