What a difference a rug makes! Swipe left to see another angle and a before shot. This room like most in our home is "Under Construction" and an under constant evolution. Sometimes finding the right pieces takes time and then that inspires another change. The four main rooms of our house are all pretty open and visually you can see one from the other. I've stuck with a pretty neutral color palette of walnut flooring and white walls and black accents. Over the years a dusty blue green has crept into these rooms and the dining room in particular felt like but needed some livening up (might be all my taxidermy lol). Our collection of tiki mugs in the hutch invited some other colors in here too. I found this rug on World Market's website and thought it was a great mix of colors and worked well with my mid century Broyhill Brasilia dining set. Table runner is John Derian for Target.
