SQUEEZE THE.... tree. Hopefully someone gets that reference. If not 🤷🏻‍♀️😅 Just a week and and a bit [hopefully] until we have to negotiate our Christmas tree through here and into the dining room! We always head off to a local farm to pick one and it’s probably my second favourite day after Christmas Eve (you heard that right, the day before and the anticipation is SO much better than actual Christmas Day). I would love to know what Christmas traditions you have? Something you always watch on a certain day... routines... potential oddities. When I was a kid and still in believing in Father Christmas mode, my mum or brother would jangle some sleigh bells around while I was in bed and I can still remember it. Genuinely thought it was the big man rocking up and would shut my eyes really tightly so as to not ruin the magic. A couple of years ago we adopted the Icelandic tradition of ‘Jolabokaflod’ aka ‘book flood’ which means we get each other a new book which we exchange on Christmas Eve and go to bed to read them with a hot drink. That’s right, us wildlings over here are tucked up, stone cold sober, getting down and cosy with a book. Bet you had us down as going out on a bender, didn’t you?
