It’s my Mum’s birthday today. This time last year I was home helping to make her 70th special. I’m only thankful it was last year and not this. And thank goodness for FaceTime!!
For me, Christmas can’t really start until Mum has had her birthday, then usually it’s full steam ahead, with plans afoot for various family gatherings, or trips home.
Last year we had all the excitement of our special Scotland Christmas to look forward to. It was so magical to all be together in such a beautiful place. It was the last time I saw them all. Which is possibly why it’s taken a lot for me to get in the Christmas zone this year. But I am trying..😉
My gorgeous girl had a little wobble yesterday about how much she’s missing her grandparents and family in England. Also how worried she is we might get the virus and die. Bless her, I think we forget sometimes this must all seem so anxious for kids, even though they don’t always show it. I know my boy has struggled, especially in school which he finds incredibly anxious with all the new rules and day long mask wearing.
Let’s hope this time next year we will be a long way forward of all this. With a new appreciation of all we have taken for granted.
Have a wonderful 1st Sunday of Advent treasures. It’s a bit of a dull day out there but hopefully we can get a walk in and maybe some Christmas crafting later. 💚💚
