Dining Room Design / Decoration Ideas & Inspiration (Simple, Small, Modern, Luxury)

I love before and after photos, mostly because they show that for most of us stuff does not happen all at once. Anything I do takes phases, and sometimes those phases last forever, or at least it seems for me. But I would rather wait for the right thing or until I have the money to get exactly what I want then have something I will never be fully satisfied with just to say it’s completed. So I present to you my dining room in its many phases: the day I moved in (photo 2). Notice the weird door in the dining room. It drove me crazy. The law firm had used the dining room as their reception room, so they built a new foyer out of the kitchen so people could use the side entrance and come straight into their reception room. But it left me with an eyesore, and no kitchen. So the first thing I did, was to paint it just to try and hide it. Lol (photo 3). I prioritized painting the exterior of the house over a kitchen as many of you know with old wooden houses that cost is about the same. Then I moved a bookshelf in front of it (photo 4), which hid it better but is still not what I wanted. But finally in putting my kitchen back in, I had the door taken away and the room restored to how it was before - thankfully. I still don’t consider it done. While I installed these sconces as a temporary thing, and they’re nice, its still not what I want. So I will ultimately replace those. And I still haven’t had curtains made, but I have finally found the fabric I want so that’s coming soon.
