Dining Room Design / Decoration Ideas & Inspiration (Simple, Small, Modern, Luxury)

This is one of my favorite spaces in my home. I wanted it to be tastefully decorated and not overdone. I also wanted it to be pretty, but not overly “girly.” We have had this furniture forever. It is nothing special and it used to be black. I hand painted it and gave it a new life because I don’t believe in wasting perfectly good furniture if you can paint it and spruce it up. I won’t lie though, painting this table and chairs was an absolute nightmare. I don’t even know how many layers of paint went on it as I tried to emulate a distressed Swedish pale blue/white finish. We haven’t had company here all year, which is weird and sad, but this room gets a lot of use weekly when I work in here and we also have a wet bar tucked in one of the corners and that space gets more use than I’d like to admit. My dining room gets the best light for photography and my table is normally covered in new pieces of jewelry until I carve out time to photograph it. This space just got a fabulous new addition (new art for my collection) and it got decorated for Christmas a little later than I wanted this year, so I might have to leave my Christmas decorations up through January or February next year... just saying.
